TIRANA (Albania), April 20 (SeeNews) – Albania's state-owned power corporation KESH said on Friday it is inviting bids for exports of up to 38,240 MWh of electricity for April 23-30 delivery in two lots.
The bidding deadline is April 20 and the preferred criteria will be the highest price offered, KESH said in a request for proposals.
The electricity will be offered for delivery from Monday to Wednesday in the first lot and from Thursday to Monday in the second lot, KESH added.
On April 17, KESH said it sold 49,440 MWh of electricity worth 747,120 euro ($924,360) for delivery in April. A price range of 11.65 euro/MWh to 20.19 euro/MWh was achieved in the auction.
Albania produces 98% of its electricity at hydro power plants, most of it from three power plants along the Drin River, in the northern part of the country.
