TIRANA (Albania), August 27 (SeeNews) – Albania's consolidated budget surplus increased to 3.1 billion leks ($28.4 million/24.4 million euro) in the first seven months of 2018, from 884 million leks in the year-ago period, the finance ministry said on Monday.
Consolidated budget revenue totalled 256 billion leks in the January-July period, 7.3 billion leks more compared to the same period of 2017, while spending increased 3% to 252.8 billion leks, the ministry said in a press release.
Tax revenue totalled 224.4 billion leks, up 8 billion leks, while VAT proceeds increased by 3.4% on the year to 81 billion leks in the first seven months of 2018.
Albania's 2018 budget projects a budget deficit equivalent to 2% of GDP and economic growth of 4%.
