TIRANA (Albania), May 15 (SeeNews) – Albania's budget was in surplus of 4.3 billion leks ($38.8 million/34.5 million euro) in the first four months of 2019, compared to 3.3 billion leks surplus in the same period of last year, official figures show.
Consolidated budget revenue rose 4% year-on-year to 149 billion leks, while expenditures increased 3.4% to 144.6 billion leks in January-April, according to data published on the website of the finance ministry.
Tax revenue increased by 4.6% to 140.5 billion leks, while value-added tax (VAT) proceeds decreased 2.3% to 43.5 billion leks.
The Albanian government projects economic growth of 4.3% and budget deficit equivalent to 1.9% of GDP in the 2019 budget.
