TIRANA (Albania), February 28 (SeeNews) – The number of building permits issued in Albania in 2018 rose 45.8% year-on-year to 1,194, the national statistical agency, INSTAT, said on Thursday.
The estimated value of approved construction projects increased by 20.1% to 59 billion leks ($532.6 million/467.9 million euro) last year, INSTAT said in an annual report.
In the fourth quarter alone, the number of building permits increased by 70.6% year-on-year to 360. Of these, 248 building permits were issued for residential buildings.
Most of the permits in October-December period, 120, were issued for buildings in Tirana, followed by 44 in Albania's biggest port city of Durres and 35 in the southeastern city of Korca.
