TIRANA (Albania), February 28 (SeeNews) – The number of building permits issued in Albania in 2019 fell by 12.6% to 1,044, the national statistical agency, INSTAT, said on Friday.
The estimated value of approved construction projects last year, however, increased by 34.4% to 79.3 billion leks ($640.5 million/701.4 million euro), INSTAT said in an annual report.
In the fourth quarter alone, the number of building permits decreased by 45.6% year-on-year to 196. Out of the total, 139 building permits were issued for residential buildings.
Most of the permits in the October-December period, 60, were issued for buildings in Tirana, followed by 24 for projects in southeastern city of Korca.
