TIRANA (Albania), March 27 (SeeNews) – Albania recorded a budget surplus of 1.2 billion leks ($10.8 million/9.5 million euro) in the first two months of 2019, compared to 3.7 billion leks in the same period a year earlier, the finance ministry said.
Consolidated budget revenue rose 1.6% year-on-year to 68.7 billion leks, while expenditures increased 5.6% to 67.5 billion leks in January-February, the ministry data published on its website showed.
Tax revenue increased by 2.2% to 64.6 billion leks, while value-added tax (VAT) proceeds decreased 1.4% to 21.6 billion leks.
In its 2019 budget bill, the Albanian government projects economic growth of 4.3% and budget deficit equivalent to 1.9% of GDP.
