September 10 (SeeNews) - Albania's annual consumer inflation was 1.6% in September, unchanged from August, statistical office INSTAT said.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the largest weight of 40% in the consumer basket, grew by 3.5% on the year in August, after adding 3.3% a month earlier.
Housing, water, electricity and fuel prices, which have a weight of 20.7% in the consumer basket, rose by 1.1% year-on-year in September, after growing at the same rate in August.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices in Albania added 0.4% in September, maintaining the same growth rate as in the previous month.
In September, Albania's central bank decided to keep its key interest rate unchanged at a record low 1.25%. Inflation is anticipated to return to the central bank's target of 3% around the end of 2018.
