October 15 (SeeNews) - Albania's consolidated budget was in deficit of 35.9 billion leks ($338.9 billion/292.2 million euro) in the nine months through September, lower than the deficit of 59.4 billion leks recorded in the same period of last year, official preliminary figures showed.
Consolidated budget revenue increased by 19.1% year-on-year in the January-September period of 2021, reaching 367 billion leks, while expenditures rose by 9.6% to 403 billion leks, according to data published by the finance ministry on Thursday.
Total tax revenue increased by an annual 18.9% in the nine months through September, to 244.0 billion leks, with value-added tax revenue up 19.8% to 111.3 billion leks.
In the 2021 state budget, the Albanian government has forecast economic growth of 5.5% and budget deficit of 120.5 billion leks, equivalent to 6.9% of the projected GDP.
