TIRANA (Albania), March 4 (SeeNews) – Albania recorded a budget deficit of 26.7 billion leks ($238.8 million/210.0 million euro) in 2018, compared to a gap of 30.9 billion leks a year earlier, the finance ministry said.
Consolidated budget revenue rose 4.4% year-on-year to 449.5 billion leks, while expenditures increased 3.2% to 476.1 billion leks in 2018, finance ministry data published on its website showed.
Tax revenue grew 5.2% to 419.3 billion leks, while value-added tax (VAT) proceeds increased 2.8% to 143.5 billion leks.
In its 2019 budgt bill, the Albanian government projects economic growth of up to 4.3% and budget deficit equivalent to 1.9% of GDP.
