TIRANA (Albania), October 30 (SeeNews) – The gross written premiums of Albanian insurers increased to 12.5 billion leks ($113.2 million/99.4 million euro) in the first nine months of 2018, up 3.61% year-on-year, official figures show.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance added 4.19% year-on-year to 11.6 billion leks in the January-September period, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 823.4 million leks, down 4.23%, according to figures published on the website of the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority (AFSA) last week.
Total gross claims paid decreased to 3.4 billion leks at the end of September from 3.7 billion leks a year earlier.
The statistics comprises data from eight insurance companies operating in Albania.
