TIRANA (Albania), October 30 (SeeNews) – The gross written premiums of Albanian insurers increased 3.04% year-on-year in the nine months through September, reaching 12.8 billion leks ($114.4 million/103.1 million euro), official figures show.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance grew 2.7% to 11.9 billion leks in the January-September period, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 893.7 million leks, up 8.54%, according to figures published by the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority late on Tuesday.
Total gross claims paid increased to 4.3 billion leks as at the end of September, from 4.0 billion leks a year earlier.
The statistics comprise data from eight insurance companies operating in Albania.
