TIRANA (Albania), November 26 (SeeNews) – The gross written premiums of Albanian insurers increased to 13.7 billion leks ($125 million/110.2 million euro) in the first ten months of 2018, up 5.13% year-on-year, official figures show.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance added 5.87% year-on-year to 12.8 billion leks in the January-October period, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 904.5 million leks, down 4.38%, according to figures published on the website of the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority (AFSA) last week.
Total gross claims paid decreased to 3.9 billion leks at the end of October from 4.0 billion leks a year earlier.
The statistics comprises data from eight insurance companies operating in Albania.
