TIRANA (Albania), March 27 (SeeNews) – The gross written premiums of Albanian insurers increased 1.37% year-on-year in the first two months of 2019, reaching 2.4 billion leks ($21.3 million/18.8 million euro), official figures showed on Wednesday.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance added 1.40% to 2.2 billion leks, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 160 million leks, up 1.43%, according to figures published on the website of Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority.
Total gross claims paid decreased to 829.6 million leks as at the end of February, from 889.9 million leks a year earlier.
The statistics comprise data from eight insurance companies operating in Albania.
