TIRANA (Albania), July 26 (SeeNews) – The gross written premiums of Albanian insurers increased 7.7 billion leks ($71.2 million/60.8 million euro) in the first half of 2018, up 3.93% year-on-year, official figures show.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance rose 4.51% year-on-year to 7.1 billion leks in the January-June period, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 572.8 million leks, up 2.09%, according to figures published on the website of the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority (AFSA) on Wednesday.
Total gross claims paid decreased to 2.3 billion leks at end-June from 2.7 billion leks a year earlier.
The statistics comprises data from eight insurance companies operating in Albania.
