TIRANA (Albania), November 27 (SeeNews) – The net profit of banks in Albania decreased to 3.3 billion leks ($29.9 million/26.4 million euro) in the third quarter, from 3.4 billion leks in the like period of last year, according to data published by the Albanian Association of Banks (AAB).
The Albanian banking sector's outstanding loan portfolio decreased to 553.7 billion leks in the July-September perod, from 571.9 billion leks a year earlier, AAB said in a quarterly report, citing data of the country's central bank.
Deposits in Albanian banks increased to 1,210 billion leks from 1,162 billion leks in the third quarter of 2017.
The total assets of Albania’s banking system grew to 1,481 billion leks in the third quarter from 1,444 billion leks a year earlier.
In 2017, the combined net profit of banks in Albania increased to 22.1 billion leks, from 9.2 billion leks in 2016, data showed.
The figures comprise the financial results of 16 Albanian banks. The largest by assets among them are Banka Kombëtare Tregtare (BKT) and Raiffeisen Bank Albania.
