January 10 (SeeNews) - The net profit of Albania's banking sector fell to 16.6 billion leks ($151.7 million/141.5 million euro) in the January-November period, compared with 19.2 billion leks in the same period of 2021, the Albanian Association of Banks (AAB) said on Tuesday.
The outstanding loan portfolio of banks in Albania grew to 722 billion leks at the end of November, from 661.2 billion leks a year earlier, AAB said in a monthly report, quoting data of the country's central bank.
The ratio of problem loans to total loans fell to 5.05% at the end of November from 6.20% a year earlier.
Deposits in Albanian banks increased to 1,513 billion leks from 1,390 billion leks at the end of November 2021.
The total assets of the country's banking system grew to 1,876 billion leks as at end-November, compared with 1,729 billion leks a year earlier.
The figures comprise the financial results of 12 Albanian banks. Banka Kombetare Tregtare (BKT) was the largest among them in terms of assets at the end of June.
