September 22 (SeeNews) - Albania posted a budget surplus of 13.7 billion leks ($111.5 million/99.2 million euro) for the first eight months of 2016, compared to a deficit of 16.3 billion leks a year ago, provisional data from the country's finance ministry showed.
The improvement is mainly driven by higher tax revenues, the data indicated.
Total revenue rose 7% year-on-year to 265.8 billion leks in the January-August period, while total expenditure shrank 4.8% to 252 billion leks.
