March 3 (SeeNews) - Albania’s government decided to increase the minimum monthly wage in the country by 6,000 leks to 40,000 leks ($369.2/347.8 euro), local media reported.
The change will be effective as of April 1, Albanian Daily News quoted economy and finance minister Delina Ibrahimaj as saying earlier this week.
The last time the government raised the minimum monthly wage was in October last year, by 2,000 leks to 34,000 leks.
Albania's average gross monthly wage increased by 7% year-on-year to 60,666 leks in the second quarter of 2022, according to the latest data by the statistical office.
Albania's annual harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP) increased by 7.1% year-on-year in January, after adding 7.5% in December and 8% in November, the country's statistical office said earlier.
