October 1 (SeeNews) - Albania's central bank will auction 3.4 billion leks ($39.28 million/27.6 million euro) in three-month Treasury bills on Tuesday, the bank said on Monday.
The T-bills, which the central bank offers on behalf of the Finance Ministry, mature on January 3, 2008.
Albania's three-month T-bills produced a weighted average yield of 5.76% at the last auction held on September 18, up from 5.71% achieved in the previous auction on September 11.
The Bank of Albania auctions lek-denominated three-month T-bills weekly, usually on Tuesdays, and six-month and 12-month T-bills twice a month, also on Tuesdays.
Last week the bank did not offer three month treasury bills.
The Bank of Albania ( www.bankofalbania.org ) has auctioned T-bills worth 299.08 billion leks in par value since the beginning of the year. Last year it sold 460.13 billion leks worth of T-bills, compared to 465.2 billion leks in 2005.
