October 4 (SeeNews) - Albania's central bank will auction on Tuesday 16.5 billion leks ($189.17 million/134.06 million euro) in three treasury bills issues, the bank said.
The central bank, which auctions government securities on behalf of the Finance Ministry, will offer a three-month T-bills issue with a par value of 4.0 billion leks maturing on January 10, 2008. The bank will also offer a six-month T-bill with a par value of 5.9 billion leks maturing on April 10, and 12-month T-bills worth 6.6 billion leks maturing on October 9, 2008.
The Bank of Albania ( www.bankofalbania.org ) auctions lek-denominated three-month T-bills weekly, usually on Tuesdays, and six-month and 12-month T-bills twice a month, also on Tuesdays.
The bank has auctioned T-bills worth 302.48 billion leks in par value since the beginning of the year. Last year, it sold 460.13 billion leks worth of government securities, down from 465.2 billion leks in 2005.
