TIRANA (Albania), March 13 (SeeNews) – Albania’s civil aviation authority said on Wednesday it has decided to suspend all flight operations of Boeing 737-8 MAX and 737-9 MAX aircraft in the country's airspace, following last week's Ethiopian Airlines deadly crash.
The decision is in accordance with the suspension issued by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) on all flight operations of all Boeing Model 737-8 MAX and 737-9 MAX aircraft in Europe, the civil aviation authority said in a statement.
It also said that no such planes are in operation on any of the flights scheduled at Albania's only international airport, in Tirana.
The suspension was issued after a Boeing 737 MAX 8 of Ethiopian Airlines crashed on Sunday minutes after take-off on a flight from Addis Ababa to Nairobi, Kenya, killing all 157 people on board.
