June 7 (SeeNews) - The Albanian government decided to do away with a hydrocarbons price monitoring and control board established last year in response to the oil price spike, the finance ministry said on Wednesday.
“During the first quarter we carefully monitored the developments in the hydrocarbons market, and it is safe to say that the prices have normalised down to the pre-crisis levels,” finance minister Delina Ibrahimaj said as seen in a video posted on social media.
Besides the hydrocarbons price control board, in March 2022 the government said it is establishing a control board for some foods. In February, the country’s constitutional court said the decision was unconstitutional.
