TIRANA (Albania), July 19 (SeeNews) – Albania’s parliament said it approved a 40 million euro ($45 million) loan agreement with the German development bank KfW to finance the fourth phase of a rural water supply programme focusing on rural areas.
The fourth phase of the programme will focus on the coastal areas of the southern part of Albania, the parliament said in a press release late on Thursday.
The programme on rural water supply aims to help improve living conditions for 80,000 residents, boost local tourism and bring Albania’s water infrastructure closer to EU standards.
The programme targets the construction of 18 water supply systems in 83 villages across Albania. It is expected to be completed in 2021.
