TIRANA (Albania), July 19 (SeeNews) – Albania’s parliament said it has approved a public-private partnership (PPP) contract with local company A.N.K. for the construction and maintenance of a 17.3 km-long motorway section linking Milot to Balldre.
The value of the contract is 213.6 million euro ($240 million), inclusive of value added tax (VAT), the parliament said in a press release late on Thursday.
The contract provides for the construction of the new motorway section in the northwestern part of the country and its maintenance for a period of 13 years.
The new motorway section is of great importance, particularly for the economic development of the municipalities of Milot and Lezha. It will also facilitate transport links with the northwestern part of Albania and neighbouring Montenegro.
