TIRANA (Albania), October 6 (SeeNews) - Albania has extended again the deadline for submitting bids in a tender for the construction of a new 37 million euro ($42.9 million) airport near the southern coastal town of Saranda, the infrastructure ministry said.
The deadline for the construction of the airport was extended to October 14 from October 4 in order to provide more transparency for companies interested in taking part in the tender, the infrastructure ministry said in a tender notice on Monday.
The original deadline of September 23 was first extended to October 4.
In April, Albania inaugurated its second international airport located in the northeastern city of Kukes. Tirana International Airport Mother Teresa is the only other operating international airport in the country.
