August 16 (SeeNews) - Latvian carrier airBaltic will launch direct summer flights between the Latvian capital of Riga and the Croatian coastal town of Split from May 21, 2018, the operator of Riga international airport has said.
The company will service the route twice per week with a 145-seat Bombardier CS300 aircraft, according to a notice posted on the website of Riga airport.
"Network expansion is a key part of our Horizon 2021 business plan that enables us to further improve connections between the Baltic region and the rest of the world", Wolfgang Reuss, senior vice president network management of airBaltic, said in the notice.
During the first six months of 2017, airBaltic has carried a total of 1,565,462 passengers throughout its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, the CIS and the Middle East, which is the second highest number of passengers in the history of the airline.
