June 3 (SeeNews) - Flag carrier Air Serbia plans to introduce nine new routes from Belgrade in June, lifting the number of flights it offers by 20%, it said.
The company will launch regular year-round flights to Kiev, Madrid, Barcelona, Rijeka, Krasnodar, Helsinki and Cairo, as well as seasonal routes to Nice and Zadar this month, Air Serbia said in a statement on Friday.
"We are very happy because we managed to significantly improve the functionality of our network, through careful selection of destinations, and in accordance with our passengers’ desires and the strategic plans for further expansion," Air Serbia's CEO Duncan Naysmith said.
The inaugural flights to Helsinki and Barcelona were carried out on June 1, after which the company is operating three weekly flights to the Finnish capital and two weekly flights to the destination in Spain. On June 2, Air Serbia launched services to three new destinations, connecting Belgrade with Nice and Madrid with two weekly flights, and Belgrade and Kiev with three weekly flights.
The first flight to Krasnodar will take place on June 3, after which, airplanes will fly towards the city in the south of Russia three times per week. The introduction of Rijeka and Cairo flights, which the company will operate two times a week, is scheduled for June 4. Flights to Zadar will be launched on June 21 and will be operated twice a week during the summer season.
With the launch of the new services, Air Serbia will expand its network to a total of 49 destinations.
