January 17 (SeeNews) - Flag carrier Air Serbia booked a net profit of 21 million euro ($22.7 million) last year, compared to a 21.3 million euro net loss in 2021, it said on Tuesday.
The turnaround to profit resulted from efficient operations carried out during the pandemic, as well as an extensive network expansion that led to an increase in passenger traffic by some 60% year-on-year, Air Serbia said in a statement, citing preliminary figures.
"Last year, Air Serbia came 2% below the record-high passenger numbers achieved in 2019, which is one of the best results in Europe, looking at this parameter,” said CEO Jiri Marek.
