BELGRADE (Serbia), August 5 (SeeNews) – Flag carrier Air Serbia has started operating a flight linking Austria’s Salzburg to Konstantin Veliki airport in Nis, in eastern Serbia, Salzburg Airport said.
The service was launched on August 2 and has great potential, since there are several interesting destinations, which can be reached within a 200-300 kilometre radius from Serbia’s second-largest city, Salzburg Airport said in a statement on Friday.
The service will be operated twice a week, Salzburg Airport said.
"We are very pleased to be connecting Salzburg to Nis. Our priority is to offer good service at affordable prices, as well as to make it possible for residents of both region to fly at best possible conditions. We are certain that better connections to Austria will contribute to the strengthening of commercial activities and tourism between our two countries," the CEO of Air Serbia, Duncan Naysmith, said in the statement.
Air Serbia started operations from the Konstantin Veliki airport in Nis, in the east of the country, on July 15. In the period between July 15 and 17, the Serbian flag carrier launched flights from Nis to Bologna, Hannover, Tivat, Gothenburg and Frankfurt-Hahn, while in the first three days of August, it will commence operations to Ljubljana, Budapest, Friedrichshafen, Salzburg, Rome and Karlsruhe, the flag carrier said last month.
