June 1 (SeeNews) - Flag carrier Air Serbia said on Thursday it started operating regular flights from Belgrade to Italy's Venice, connecting the two cities four times a week.
The inaugural flight was operated by an Airbus A319 aircraft named in honour of Dejan Stankovic, a renowned Serbian footballer who resides in Italy, but the service will normally be serviced with an ATR 72-series turboprop aircraft with up to 70 seats, Air Serbia said in a statement.
"Our new Venice service offers guests a multitude of travel options each week and a total capacity of 560 seats weekly, making it easier to plan business trips, long weekends and getaways. In addition, we’ve timed it to connect seamlessly over our Belgrade hub to our regional services, so that guests from across our network can look forward to a comfortable journey to Venice," the CEO of Air Serbia, Dane Kondic, said.
Air Serbia will operate the flight on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
Air Serbia already operates flights from Belgrade to Rome and Milan.
