May 25 (SeeNews) - Air France said on Monday that it will resume its Paris-Bucharest service on June 3 following a break of about two months.
Flights between Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and Bucharest Henri Coanda Airport will be initially operated once per week, then the frequency will increase to three and five times per week and eventually the service become daily as of June 22, Air France said in a press release.
"The flight schedule may change depending on the decisions of the authorities, the needs of Romanian passengers and flight occupancy," the company said.
Depending on measures enforced by authorities, Air France intends to gradually resume its flights by the end of June. The company estimates that in June it will operate approximately 15% of the flights normally operated at this time of year.
"The abrupt suspension of flights, the closure of borders and the unprecedented social distancing measures have forced the entire aviation industry to adapt to a completely different operating environment. We are glad that after about two months of interruption we can resume flights to our Paris hub," Air France KLM country manager for Romania and Bulgaria, Alexandru Dobrescu, said.
Flights will be operated under extensive hygiene conditions throughout the check-in process. in, boarding, flight and landing, the company noted.
Also, in order to limit the interaction between crew and passengers, on domestic flights and short flights in Europe, meal and beverage services have been suspended. On long-haul flights, cabin service is limited and individually packaged products will be used.
