June 11 (SeeNews) - Air Canada said its low-cost subsidiary Air Canada Rouge started operating a twice-weekly service linking Montreal to Romania's capital Bucharest.
The seasonal flights will be operated until October 5 with departures from Montreal on Monday and Thursday, and from Bucharest on Tuesday and Friday, Air Canada said in a statement on Friday following the inaugural flight.
Air Canada will operate the flights with Air Canada Rouge Boeing 767-300ER aircraft featuring Premium Rouge and Economy class service.
"As the only North American airline flying to Romania, the largest European market without trans-Atlantic flights, we are extremely proud to launch our first Montreal-Bucharest flight, strengthening even further Air Canada's presence in Southeastern Europe," the passenger airlines president of Air Canada, Benjamin Smith, said.
Air Canada launched flights between Toronto and Croatia's Zagreb through its low-cost subsidiary on June 3.
