TIRANA (Albania), February 3 (SeeNews) – Albania’s prime minister Edi Rama said flag carrier Air Albania will add three new routes from capital Tirana to Italy starting from March 29.
The flights from Tirana to Verona, Bergamo and Pisa will be operated by a third aircraft to be added to Air Albania's fleet, Rama said in a Facebook post late on Friday.
He did not disclose further details about the aircraft or the flights schedule.
Since September 30, Air Albania has been conducting flights to three cities in Italy – Milan, Rome, Bologna with its Boeing 737-800 aircraft, according to data by the company.
In April, Air Albania launched flights to Istanbul served an Airbus A319-100.
In February, the infrastructure ministry signed a financial agreement with Turkish Airlines and Albanian company MDN Investment for the establishment of an Albanian flag carrier.
In late 2018, Albania's government approved a partnership agreement with Turkish Airlines, under which state-owned air navigation services provider Albcontrol and MDN Investment will hold a stake of 51% in the new company among themselves, while Turkish Airlines will own the remainder.
