January 12 (SeeNews) - Romania's annual economic growth accelerated to 8.8% unadjusted in the third quarter of 2017 from 6.1% in the previous quarter, the country's statistical board said on Friday, confirming its previous estimate issued in December.
The annual GDP growth in the third quarter was mainly due to strong performance of agriculture and industry as well as rising consumption.
On a quarterly comparison basis, the Romanian economy expanded by 2.6% seasonally adjusted in July-September, speeding up from 2% growth in the second quarter, the statistical board, INS, said, citing provisional data.
In seasonally-adjusted terms, Romania's third quarter GDP increased by 8.6% compared to the same quarter of 2016.
