December 3 (SeeNews) - AES Bulgaria, a unit of U.S.-based energy conglomerate AES Corporation, said on Friday that its thermal power plant (TPP) AES Galabovo and the St. Nikola wind farm produced about 3,235 GWh of electricity combined in the first eleven months of 2021.
TPP AES Galabovo generated nearly 2,950 GWh of electricity in the January-November period, while the St. Nikola wind farm produced 285 GWh of electricity, AES Bulgaria said in an e-mailed statement.

In November alone, the TPP and the wind park produced 269 GWh combined. Their combined output covered 8% of the total electricity consumption in Bulgaria last month, according to the statement.
TPP AES Galabovo has successfully completed its planned annual maintenance campaign. The repair campaign of the TPP's first and second blocks was completed in September and November, respectively, AES Bulgaria also said.
In 1999, a unit of U.S.-based energy conglomerate AES Corporation purchased the majority interest in Bulgaria's Maritsa East 1 project, subsequently renamed AES Galabovo in 2009. AES completed the full acquisition of the thermal power plant from Ireland's Consolidated Continental Commerce Limited (3C) in 2005.
