December 5 (SeeNews) - AES Bulgaria, a unit of U.S.-based energy conglomerate AES Corporation, expects its revenue to increase by 7-8 percent year-on-year in 2017, Ivan Tzankov, the company’s managing director, said on Tuesday.
The company expects its revenues to increase due to a rise in electricity sales related to the harsh winter weather conditions in Bulgaria in January and February, Ivan Tzankov said during the company’s annual press conference.
AES Bulgaria’s two power plants have produced 2.78 million MWh of electricity in the first 10 months of the year, an annual increase of 9.4%.
The company’s coal-fired power plant AES Galabovo produced 2.5 million MWh of electricity in January-October, which represents an increase of 8% over the like period of 2016.
AES Bulgaria’s other power plant, Saint Nikola Wind Farm, produced 282,776 MWh of electricity in the 10 months through October, up by 39,531 MWh from the comparable period of 2016.
