April 28 (SeeNews) - Croatian manufacturer of plastic products for the automotive industry AD Plastik [ZSE:ADPL-R-A] said its domestic factories are preparing to resume operations following the April 28 restart of production at its main client - Slovenian car maker Revoz.
"Production at Revoz will take place in one shift during the first week, and the capacities of our factories in Croatia will adapt accordingly," AD Plastik said in a statement with the Zagreb bourse on Monday.
It added that some of its other clients, including German automotive part supplier Hella, Renault Russia and Volkswagen, have also resumed production, noting that all of them will be initially working at reduced capacities.
On April 14, AD Plastik said that its two plants in Russia have restarted production to meet the needs of its Russian client AvtoVAZ. The Russian Federation declared AvtoVAZ together with its suppliers a producer of special national importance, allowing it to resume business operations despite the fact that April was declared a non-working month in Russia because of the coronavirus outbreak.
AD Plastik has eight production plants in five countries - three in Croatia, two in Russia, and one each in Hungary, Serbia and Romania, employing some 2,900 workers in total.
Last month, the company said its operations were affected by the temporary shutdown of car making plants of Bentley and Volkswagen due to the coronavirus crisis.
AD Plastik's Hungarian plant is a supplier for Bentley Motors, while the closure of Volkswagen Group's factories in Russia had resulted in reduced orders for AD Plastik's Russian plant in Kaluga.
Earlier in March, AD Plastik said it was suspending most of its operations in Croatia, Serbia and Hungary as its global customers halted production due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The company's shares traded up 2.15% at 142.50 kuna ($20.5/18.9 euro) by 1241 CET on Tuesday on the Zagreb Stock Exchange.
