September 21 (SeeNews) - French hospitality group Accor said on Tuesday it will open an ibis Styles hotel in Romania's central city of Brasov at the beginning of 2024.
The hotel will be operated by Accor group through a management agreement with Kronstadt Hotel, it said in a press release.
"We have great confidence in the project, because it allows travellers to blend in the local lifestyle of a young community and to feel the vibe of a fast-paced and creative city," Accor Development director for Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and the Czech Republic.
"With the expansion of the skiing domain, the opening of the airport and the diversification of cultural life, brought by the opening of the new Polyvalent Hall, Brasov has an amazing opportunity to strengthen its attractiveness and become the capital of winter sports and Romanian tourism."
The ibis Styles Brasov will have 126 rooms, a ground floor restaurant with bar and an external terrace, a modular conference center and a fitness room. The hotel will be part of a mixed-use project, with residential building and several retail and service areas at the ground floor.
The hotel will be the 6th under the brand to open in Romania.
Accor is a French multinational hospitality company that owns, manages and franchises over 5,100 hotels, resorts and vacation properties in 110 countries.5,100 properties and 10,000 food and beverage venues throughout 110 countries. In July 2020, the group said that it aims to open up to 50 hotels under several brands in the coming years in Romania and that it is actively looking for opportunities in the market.
