SOFIA (Bulgaria), December 12 (SeeNews) – ABB Bulgaria has said it plans to build a number of new charging stations for electric vehicles under its partnership with Sofia-based eMobility International, which operates the stations.
The new charging stations are planned to expand eMobility's network along all major roads and motorways in the country by the end of the first quarter of 2018, ABB Bulgaria - part of Zurich-headquartered power and automation company ABB, said in a statement on Monday.
“We chose ABB to build out network of fast charging stations for electric vehicles, as they are extremely reliable and offer remote maintenance,” Stefan Spasov, executive director of eMobility International, said.
To date, eMobility International’s network of charging stations built by ABB Bulgaria, operate in nine Bulgarian cities, as well as along the roads connecting the capital Sofia with the checkpoints on the borders with Greece and Turkey.
eMobility International, which operates under the Eldrive brand, manages charging station infrastructure and offers flexible solutions for short and long-term rental services of electric vehicles.
Last month, eMobility International launched an electric car rental service in Sofia together with its Lithuanian peer UAB Ride share, which operates under the Spark brand.
ABB Bulgaria has four production facilities and a service centre for turbocompressors. It employs over 2,500 people in the country.
