LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), July 17 (SeeNews) – A1 Telekom Austria Group said its wireless unit A1 Slovenija, previously known as Si.mobil, posted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of 28.4 million euro ($31.9 million) in the first half of 2019, up 15.7% year-on-year.
A1 Slovenija’s revenues increased by an annual 3.1% to 102.6 million euro in the period under review, while EBIT added 45.6% to 6.5 million euro, the group said in a first-half financial statement on Tuesday.
In the second quarter alone, A1 Slovenija’s EBITDA increased 17.5% on the year to 14.5 million euro.
“Total revenues increased, driven by higher equipment revenues and an increase in fixed-line service revenues. The latter rose due to higher subscriber numbers and the expiration of a fixed-line promotion with lower monthly fees at the end of 2018,” A1 Telekom Austria said.
The number of wireless subscribers of A1 Slovenija totalled 697.0 million at the end of the second quarter, up 0.4% on the year.
