July 19 (SeeNews) - A1 Telekom Austria Group said the earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of its Serbian unit went up 18% to 48.5 million euro ($57.7 million) in the first half of 2021.
The Serbian unit's total revenue went up 6.3% to 145.4 million euro in the first half, Telekom Austria said in a financial statement published last week.
In the second quarter of 2021 alone, the EBITDA of Telekom Austria's Serbian unit grew 20.5% on the year to 24.9 million euro, while its revenue went up 9.7% to 74.7 million euro.
The number of wireless subscribers went up 5.1% year-on-year to 2.388 million at end-June.
Telekom Austria's main competitors are Telenor Serbia and state-owned MTS.
Elsewhere in Southeast Europe, A1 Telekom Austria is present in Bulgaria, Croatia, North Macedonia and Slovenia.
