April 27 (SeeNews) - A1 Telekom Austria Group said the earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of its subsidiary in North Macedonia rose by an annual 3.1% in the first quarter of 2022, reaching 11.3 million euro ($12 million).
A1 Makedonija's revenues went up 5.3% on the year to 33.2 million euro in the January-March period, as service revenue came in at 27 million euro, up 7%, A1 Telekom Austria Group said in its interim financial statement on Tuesday.
The company's wireless subscribers increased to 1.09 million at the end of March 2022, compared with 1.08 million at the and of March 2021.
A1 Makedonija competes with T-Mobile Macedonia, part of Deutsche Telekom, on a market of 1.8 million people.
In Southeast Europe, A1 Telekom Austria Group also operates in Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia.
