October 14 (SeeNews) - A1 Bulgaria, a unit of A1 Telekom Austria Group, plans to invest nearly 52 million levs ($25.97 million/26.59 million euro) in its 5G Ultra network in 2022, the company told SeeNews on Friday.
The investment will be used for the expansion of the network, an communication division official at A1 Bulgaria said in an emailed statement.
5G ULTRA was launched in 2020 and was made available for all of A1 Bulgaria’s mobile subscribers at the start of June 2022. As a result, the company registered a rise of 98% in the number of active users in the three months to the end of August, A1 Bulgaria said in a statement earlier this month.
The network is already available in over 240 locations. In the coming weeks, 5G ULTRA will cover all locations with a population of over 3,000 people, the company said.
