September 24 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) said it awarded a 3.2 million levs ($1.9 million/1.6 million euro) contract for the installation of a communication system to the local unit of A1 Telekom Austria Group.
A1 Bulgaria landed the deal on September 8, the government agency said in a notice earlier this week.
Under the terms of the deal, A1 Bulgaria will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of a communucation system for the needs of RIA units within a three-year period.
The telecommunications company submitted the sole bid in the public procurement procedure for awarding the contract. Quality criteria and price carried equal weights in the ranking of its offer.
A1 Bulgaria competes with Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC), which operates under the Vivacom brand name, and Telenor Bulgaria, owned by Dutch-registered investment group PPF.
