April 30 (SeeNews) - Registrations of new medium and heavy commercial vehicles over 3.5 tonnes in Slovenia fell 8.5% on the year to 696 vehicles in the first quarter of this year, the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association, ACEA, said on Tuesday.
Registrations of new light commercial vehicles of up to 3.5 tonnes increased 15% to 2,247 vehicles, ACEA said in a statement, citing provisional data.
New bus registrations in the Alpine country more than doubled in the period from January to March 2024, reaching 57 ones from 26 vehicles in the year-ago period.
In the first quarter of 2024, new EU van sales rose by 12.6%, with nearly 400,000 units sold, ACEA said. In contrast, new EU truck registrations fell by 4% to 85,296 units. Bus sales also had a positive start to the year, with new EU registrations surging by 23.3% on the year to 9,624 units.
