April 30 (SeeNews) - The government of Germany has pledged a financing of 90 million euro ($96.3 million) to Kosovo, of which 20 million euro in grants, to support its EU integration, Kosovo’s finance ministry said on Tuesday.
The funds will be channelled towards initiatives in 2024-2025, aimed at improving the energy sector, bolstering sustainable economic development, boosting employment through capacity building and strengthening local government, the finance ministry said in a press release.
The financing extends an existing cooperation under German financing of 37 million euro for the period 2022-2023, which also included a 5 million euro grant for the development of an innovation centre in the southern city of Prizren. In October, Germany said it would provide an additional 3 million euro grant for the project, which is seen to open in June.
