November 19 (SeeNews) - The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) said the U.S. government has signed an agreement to grant $33 million (28 million euro) to Kosovo to support its progress toward self-reliance.
The funding is part of a financing package worth $161 million that USAID plans to provide to Kosovo to back its development, the agency said in a statement on Wednesday.
Kosovo's acting president Vjosa Osmani said in a Twitter post on Wednesday that the financing will help the country improve services for citizens by enhancing the accountability and effectiveness of the institutions.
Since 1999, USAID has invested over $950 million in Kosovo’s development.
