November 11 (SeeNews) - The United States is providing $2.5 million (2.2 million euro) in urgent additional financial assistance through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to help Kosovo fight coronavirus, USAID said.
The assistance is intended for the administration, access and promotion of Covid-19 vaccines, as well as for strengthening the overall health system including the replacement of the cold chain system, the USAID said in a statement on Wednesday.
The additional assistance will be implemented via UNICEF. It adds to $2.6 million in Covid-19 assistance provided through USAID to Kosovo during the pandemic.
The U.S. government has invested more than $10 million in health assistance to Kosovo over the past 20 years, primarily through USAID, according to the statement.
