December 5 (SeeNews) - U.S. fast food chain Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) said on Monday it opened a new restaurant in Romania following a 350,000 euro ($372,537) investment.
The new outlet located in the northeastern city of Piatra Neamt expands KFC's network in Romania to a total of 63 units, KFC said in a press release on Monday.
The new restaurant has an area of 150 sq m and created some 30 new jobs. It is KFC's first restaurant in Piatra Neamt.
KFC restaurants are present in Romania since 1996 as a franchise owned by US Food Network, part of Altrom group controlled by Romanian businessman Gabriel Popoviciu. Altrom group also includes Parc Hotels and Grand Plaza Hotel companies.
KFC is present in 21 Romanian cities as well as in neighbouring Moldova's capital Chisinau with two restaurants.
