November 11 (SeeNews) - Turkey's unemployment rate fell by 0.3 percentage points (pp) on a monthly comparison basis in September, to 11.5%, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said.
The unemployed people aged 15 years and over numbered nearly 3.8 million in September, a decrease of 70,000 compared to August, TurkStat said in a statement on Wednesday.
The employment rate added 0.6 pp month-on-month in September to 45.8%, or over 29.2 million people.
Turkey's labour force increased by 356,000 on a monthly comparison basis to nearly 33.5 million in September.
The labour force participation rate rose by 0.5 pp month-on-month in September, to 51.7%.
The unemployment rate in the 15-24 years age group fell by 0.9 pp month-on-month in September, to 21.5%. The employment rate in this age group went up by 0.3 pp compared to August, to 32.7%.
